50th Anniversary

These are a few pictures from Mom and Dad's anniversary party.
It was a lot of fun and many old and new friends came and enjoyed great refreshments and socializing. Wish you all could have been there.

3 Cars

Recently Joni posted a blog about 3 beds. I thought of doing this yesterday when we were doing so much running around and decided to name this 3 cars after her blog. The Explorer is my car. It lugs around the people and stuff I need summer and winter. Yesterday I didn't work so I took the Explorer to Brigham city to go to lunch with my Mom and sisters. In the evening I dropped little K off at Layton high school and drove back to the salon to print reports and went back to the school for the program. Total miles about 120.
The Impala is D's. He drove to Hyde Park to get his parents to drive them to Provo for a family party then back to Hyde Park to drop them off. Total miles 400
This is L's focus. She had to leave early to do a reptile show. She got to the shop in Salt Lake and took the van to Sandy, back to the shop and out to Rose Park for another show then dropped off the animals and took her car to 6000 south for a wedding. Total miles 60 on the car about 30 on the van.
We are such a busy running family I think we are keeping some oil shiek in Saudi in his gold plated car. This is not a normal Saturday but it's not unheard of either.

Happy Anniversary!

This was 50 years ago today, April 24
These are my parents. Hardworking, fun-loving dedicated people who
raised 7 great children who are all great productive members of society.
(not many people can say that anymore)
They have spent their lives dedicated to their family,
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and each other.
I need to write a tribute to them to be presented tonight at their
anniversary party/reception in Hyrum
I've also wanted to write about marriage which I will do later.
I plan to add the tribute and the advice essay later so stay tuned!

Spring!!!

Last Wednesday I went shopping. I shopped for me and for the salon. It was a beautiful day and my mood was light despite the marshmallow like flakes falling on me. The flakes were huge but soft. It was a beautiful winter storm but it was in April. I understand we are to expect this in Utah. Maybe that was why I wasn't bothered, maybe it's because we had had a couple of warm days or maybe it was because I was shopping for myself. hehe. Now, one week later we will be in the mid to high 70's. This is our spring. I hope everyone is paying attention because spring lasts one to five days and is gone again. This weekend the temperature will drop 20 degrees and be cold all weekend. When the weather does decide to warm up we will go directly to the 80's or 90's and be in full fledged summer. It's good that it warms in intervals though. Last week the Weber river was flowing fast and dirty. This week it's just high. If it cools the snow will stay in the mountains a little longer. The rain we get this weekend will be good for our yards and the mountains will turn green so I'm looking for the silver lining in the clouds that will be bringing the rain. I hope the warm weather helps take away the congestion I have in my lungs.

Easter and Snow

Three Blind Mice
Malayna decided that since they (the kids) were older the Easter egg hunt should be more challenging so her suggestions of obstacles and Gladiator style blocks were not accepted by all we decided the blindfold idea was a good one and let them go. The eggs have money and candy so they still want the eggs but more of a challenge. It was really funny.

Now here it is today after a warm Monday and rain all day yesterday:
Oh, and an update on the canoe. Now he's putting on the gunwales.
It's not a weekend project for sure.

General Conference

We've had another great conference. The cinnamon rolls ALL turned out great. The tradition is to overcook the second batch. We broke that tradition. Unfortunately I ended up working most of Saturday even though I was going to try to take it off. I don't have many Saturdays I can take off so I'm going to try to take Wednesdays off so I have time to do salon stuff and home stuff.
I wasn't feeling well yesterday so I took Ibuprofen and went to work. I am so healthy that even when I get sick it's a very minor case of whatever so I just have nagging aches but I do most of what I was doing anyway. I really did enjoy conference even though I only got to watch Sundays sessions. When I listen I think of Braden listening and wonder what he thinks of what is said. Next conference he will be home.
The kids have spring break and little K is not good without lots going on so we took her to the Christmas Box house.(childrens shelter) We get 2 1/2 days without the constant chatter and destruction. We'll get her Weds and do something fun. It is so peaceful.
